The Butcher’s Wife

About the Project: This project involved designing a printed menu and a website for a fictional high-end vegetarian restaurant. The design conveyed the elegance and style of the restaurant, with all design elements and colours carrying through the various mediums consistently.

Project Goals: The goal of this project was to create an appealing, cohesive brand design that could be applied in both printed and digital mediums.

Design Solution: I chose a dark purple colour palette inspired by the colour of the red onion featured in the restaurant's logo. The colours conveyed elegance while offering maximum contrast for legibility. I selected bold but elegant fonts for the headings and body copy that would appeal to the target market.

My Process: I began this project by researching vegetarian restaurants in cities around the world to understand the market and competitors in this space. I then sketched a variety of layouts for the website and menu with a focus on keeping the format intuitive and simple for the end user.

Project Outcomes: The website and menu design accomplished the project goal of being elegant, easy to read and inviting for users.
